week 14 - presentation day

 CONCLUSION

The development of cargo tanker using hybrid renewable energy (solar, wind and sea-waves) is a combination of three types of renewable energies that connected in parallel to the LCD circuit. The sources is connected in parallel is because if the one supply can’t produce a voltage, the other one will backup, so that it can be produced consistently without any interruption.

The core intent of this project is to design and evaluate a new electrical system using renewable energies. This system combined three types of energies that created from the sun light wind and sea-waves. Sun lights gives energy to the solar panel which will convert the energy into electrical power. Heat that produce from sun also can be generates electricity. The wind will generate the wind turbine, and electrical power will produced. The sea-waves generator is generated by sea-waves generated when the ship cruise. It converts the kinetic energy to the electrical energy. Throughout the project will gaining a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of how the solar cells, wind turbine generator and sea-waves generator can produce power. The hybrid generator is a new technology that can be applied in Malaysian industries.

Finally, this hybrid system is not limited to the cargo tanker only. But it can be applied to a larger application. This proves that electricity generation is no longer depending on fossil fuel only. Purpose of this project is to show that the hybrid system have a large application. Thus, this shows the advantages of development of cargo tanker using hybrid renewable energy in the aspects of its energy produces. Other than that, this project also shows that this project have larger application and can be an alternative supply for user to generate electricity.

week 12 - Full circuit connection

All three sources are connected to the diode before connected into the PIC microcontroller circuit. This is to prevent the voltage to flow back into the sources which can cause damage. Wind turbine and sea-waves generator both have been connected to DC to DC boost converter and this is to boost the voltage produce since the voltage produce for both are small. Last but not least, the sea-waves generator has its own bridge rectifier circuit. This is because the sea-waves generates alternate current and the bridge rectifier helps to convert the current from alternate current into direct current before flow into the PIC microcontroller circuit.
